Engine - GearBox

The car is supplied with a Ford 1.6 Zetec SE (Sigma), it is used for its lightweight and ultra reliability. With each engine being totally reconditioned to a formula ford style rebuild, each engine is Dyno run and comes with a Dyno print out.

A standard engine that features a different exhaust manifold fitted for packaging purposes. An aftermarket ECU and bespoke wet sump fitted again for packaging and reliability.

The engine is fitted transversely and mounts to its original 5 speed gear box, which is also standard. Again fully checked over with new bearings and fully cleaned.

Both the engine and gearbox are sealed so any local organiser or promoter can control any over maintenance or engine tampering. Likewise the ECU has a single standard map, with the engine that produces 120 BHP.

Suspension

The suspension at both front and rear, utilises the double wishbone layout with a single adjustment oil filled damper, located more traditionally from the lower wishbone for effective and simple set up.

All wishbones are non handed to reduce spares costs and larger style rose joints are used to be more rugged and give a longer lifespan. Both top and bottom wishbones are from a flat oval tubing for both strength and appearance. A single adjustable damper is mounted to the lower wishbones.

A simple filler neck is easily accessible with a dipable 20 litre tank.

Body work

With user ease and simple maintenance in mind, a multi piece GRP body has been designed and split in such away to avoid major replacement. The nose cone serves as no structural purpose and can be replaced at minimal cost. All panels are from self colour G.R.P with a wide range of colours available.

  • Cooling
  • One aluminium rad is used and is traditionally mounted in the side pod, allowing maximum airflow. A simple pressurised header tank is used for easy filling and inspection. All water pipes are aluminium.
  • Aerodynamics
  • A single plane wing Is fitted at the front to give and teach the driver small aerodynamic changes. Front and rear winglets and spoiler are non adjustable.
Exhaust System

With exhaust packaging always a challenge, we have managed to install most of the exhaust system into the side pod. The main purpose for this is to overcome the ever increasing noise problems that all race circuits are faced with. We felt that a strong design opportunity was to include lots of scope to increase or decrease silencer size. A full stainless steel system including the cat and silencer, the enhancement of easy access and maintenance has been taken strongly into consideration.
