The all new Formula Foundation car has been designed to serve three main purposes. These three main purposes include:
The Chassis has been designed to meet all current regulations. Including cockpit access, safety panel fixings, maximum triangulation and new fire extinguisher location
.
Using T45 and ROPT 510 CDS Aerospace grade steel tubing as a space frame structure, complying with FIA strength and crash testing regulations. The whole chassis offers the ultimate in - chassis construction. The chassis is MIG welded together using the correct techniques and materials.
Both the chassis dimensions and front and rear rollover structures conform to FIA Free Formula regulations.
The car is supplied with a Ford 1.6 Zetec SE (Sigma), it is used for its lightweight and ultra reliability. With each engine being totally reconditioned to a formula ford style rebuild, each engine is Dyno run and comes with a Dyno print out.
A standard engine that features a different exhaust manifold fitted for packaging purposes. An aftermarket ECU and bespoke wet sump fitted again for packaging and reliability.
The engine is fitted transversely and mounts to its original 5 speed gear box, which is also standard. Again fully checked over with new bearings and fully cleaned.
Both the engine and gearbox are sealed so any local organiser or promoter can control any over maintenance or engine tampering. Likewise the ECU has a single standard map, with the engine that produces 120 BHP.
The suspension at both front and rear, utilises the double wishbone layout with a single adjustment oil filled damper, located more traditionally from the lower wishbone for effective and simple set up.
All wishbones are non handed to reduce spares costs and larger style rose joints are used to be more rugged and give a longer lifespan.
Both top and bottom wishbones are from a flat oval tubing for both strength and appearance. A single adjustable damper is mounted to the lower wishbones.
- Front Track 68” (1727 mm) overall
- Rear Track 67 1/4” (1720 mm) overall
- Wheel Base 95” (2412 mm) overall
With user ease and simple maintenance in mind, a multi piece GRP body has been designed and split in such away to avoid major replacement. The nose cone serves as no structural purpose and can be replaced at minimal cost. All panels are from self colour G.R.P with a wide range of colours available.
With exhaust packaging always a challenge, we have managed to install most of the exhaust system into the side pod. The main purpose for this is to overcome the ever increasing noise problems that all race circuits are faced with. We felt that a strong design opportunity was to include lots of scope to increase or decrease silencer size. A full stainless steel system including the cat and silencer, the enhancement of easy access and maintenance has been taken strongly into consideration.
Get in touchThis car features a LD led multi gauge display with great visibility and an easy to set up control panel. As well as a chassis and engine loom of which are easily accessible. An on/off start switch and rain light switch are easy to locate and use. The car is fitted with a red top style 25 amp racing battery and has a FIA master switch fitted. A motorsport style ECU is fitted and made locally by specialist components.
